The AllMatters period underwear is your reusable, comfortable, and leak-free period solution. It feels like regular underwear but has built-in layers that serve different purposes – from absorbing your flow to keeping you dry and odour-free and avoiding stains on your clothes.
Absorbency:
Light / Moderate flow – holds 1-2 tampons worth (10ml)
Moderate / Heavy flow – holds 3-4 tampons worth (20ml)

How to wash
It’s super simple to care for your underwear! After use simply rinse out the blood in cold water – continue until water runs clear. You can machine wash them cold (30°) or wash them by hand using a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Hang the underwear to dry. Once dry, the underwear is ready to be reused. You can also hand-wash the period underwear using our super-cleansing yet gentle solid washing block!
What makes the AllMatters Period Underwear different?
AllMatters started the journey to develop the best performing and most sustainable period underwear. We investigated each material and their provenance carefully. The hope was to eliminate all fossil-fuel based materials, and while this is still their goal for the future, this first launch contains polyester to ensure the necessary performance.

Eco-responsible production and materials
AllMatters Period Underwear is mainly made of wood-based fibers, TENCEL™ Lyocell and VEOCEL™ Specialty Viscose, manufactured at Lenzing; an Austrian textile manufacturer known for their unique closed-loop control process that limits its impact on the environment.
- TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are derived from sustainably sourced wood pulp and, by using less water and closed loops for process chemicals, have a lower environmental impact than conventional lyocell. The material is naturally soft to the touch, have a cotton-like appearance and offer long-lasting comfort.
- VEOCEL™ Specialty Viscose fibers are made with Eco Care technology and certified with the EU Ecolabel – a label of environmental excellence that is awarded to products and services meeting high environmental standards throughout their life cycle: from raw material extraction, to production, distribution, and disposal – a holistic criteria. The manufacturing of the fibers generates up to 50% lower emissions and up to 50% less water impact compared to generic viscose.
Common FAQ
How long can I wear the AllMatters period underwear?
You can wear period underwear for as long as your flow allows – some can wear it for a full day, while others use it as a backup for a cup or tampon. We generally recommend you use them for 8-12 hours. You can also use period underwear overnight and for spotting or discharge. The underwear itself lasts for years.
How many pairs of period underwear do I need?
We recommend that you have 3-4 pairs of period underwear so you can change into a new pair after wearing them for 8-12 hours. Wash and dry the used ones before reusing.
How will I know they are full?
You can tell by looking at the seams of the gusset. If you see blood at the seams or if the underwear feels wet, this is an indication that you should change them soon. In the beginning it can be difficult to know how long you can wear them for but you will quickly get a sense of your flow and how long you can be leak-free for.
Is it hygienic to use period underwear?
Yes. The inner layer (made partly from merino wool) is naturally antibacterial and anti-odour. After use, rinse out the absorbed blood in cold water and then hand wash cold with a mild detergent or machine wash cold (30°). Hang to dry and they are ready to be used again.
