Returns & Exchanges Policy

Thanks for shopping with Bamboo Straw Girl! Every item we sell is handmade, all-natural, and carefully packed with the hope that you'll love it as much as we do. Because of the nature of what we make, please read this policy carefully before you order — we want you to choose with confidence.

In short: we accept returns and exchanges only on unused items in their original, unopened packaging and only with our prior approval. A flat S$4.00 admin fee applies to all approved returns. Some items can't be returned at all (see below). We don't accept returns for change of mind.

This isn't us being difficult — our products are handmade, natural, or personal-care items, and we want every customer to receive something untouched and hygienic.


What we cannot accept returns or exchanges on

  • Opened or used items. Returns must be in unused, resalable condition with the original packaging intact and unopened. If the product has already been opened, please don't send it back — but do get in touch, and we'll see if we can offer you a discount code to try something different next time.
  • Hygiene items — under any circumstances. This includes reusable straws, reusable masks, toothbrushes, deodorants, and bath products. Please select size, length, and scent carefully.
  • Change of mind. Please think carefully about whether the product suits your lifestyle. Our product pages have full descriptions, sizes, and scent notes — do reach out before ordering if you're unsure.
  • Natural variation. Our items are handmade and/or made from natural materials, so small differences in grain, colour, or texture are part of their character — not defects.
  • Sale items, bundle items, and gift cards. Items purchased on sale or as part of a bundle are not eligible for exchange.

How to request a return or exchange

If your item is unused and the packaging is unopened, please email us within 7 days of delivery.

Wait for our reply before posting anything back — items returned without prior approval cannot be accepted.

Once we approve your return, we must receive the item within 14 days of approval. Returns that arrive after this window may be refused.

We review each request on a case-by-case basis and reserve the right to refuse a return if the item has been used, opened, or is otherwise not in resalable condition.


Damages, defects, and wrong items

Please inspect your order upon arrival and contact us as soon as possible — and within 5 days of delivery — if the item is defective, damaged, or if you've received the wrong item, so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Email orders@bamboostrawgirl.com with your order number and clear photos of the issue, and please keep the original packaging.


Shipping the item back to us

For both returns and exchanges, please send your parcel back using a tracked shipping service, at your own cost and risk. We can't be responsible for parcels that get lost in transit. For exchanges, standard shipping rates also apply for sending the new item back out to you.

Once we receive your parcel

When your parcel arrives, we'll inspect it to confirm the packaging is unopened and undamaged.

  • For returns: if everything checks out, we'll refund you to your original payment method within 7 working days, minus the S$4.00 admin fee and original shipping charges. Your bank or card issuer may take a few extra days to post the refund.
  • For exchanges: if everything checks out, we'll email you with the next steps, including any shipping charges for sending the new item out.
  • If the packaging arrives opened or damaged: we are unable to process a refund or exchange. You may choose to have the item shipped back to you at your own cost.

If more than 15 business days have passed since we confirmed your refund and you still haven't seen it, please email us at orders@bamboostrawgirl.com.

We always try to be fair — and we appreciate your understanding that small-batch, handmade businesses work a little differently from big retailers.
